Tomato Jam.

 TOMATO JAM.
Ingredients.
  • 1 kg of tomatoes.
  • 3 tbs persevered ginger.
  • 2 lemons.
  • 870 g sugar.
Methods.
  1. Wash tomatoes. Cut into pieces.
  2. Peel lemons finely and cut the peel into thin shreds.
  3. Grate or chop ginger.
  4. Squeeze juice from lemons.
  5. Place tomatoes, ginger, sugar, and lemons peel and lemon juice in a sauce pan.
  6. Stir over heat until boiling.
  7. Boil until the jam will jell when tested.
  8. Pour into sterilized jars and seal.


VARIATIONS.
Strawberry Jam.
  • 1.6 kg strawberries.
  • 3 tbs lemon juice.
  • 1.4 kg sugar.
  • 1/2 liter water.
Gooseberry Jam.
  • 2.75 kg goose berries.
  • 1 liter water.
  • 2.75 kg sugar.
Methods: Same as above.
